Our journey

From a small idea to 100,000+ happy parents

2022

The spark

Brighterly’s founder and CEO, Eugene Kashuk, saw a recurring issue in US education — the one-size-fits-all system.

That’s how Brighterly was born, with the idea to give each learner exactly what they need. Back in 2022, we offered only math lessons for grades 1-9, but already had long-standing ambitions.

2023

Growing reach

In 2023, we launched Brighterly’s own learning platform — a single space where tutors and learners could connect more easily, with extra tools and features to support the learning process.

It was also the year we reached our first major growth milestone, expanding our user base to 1000 users and growing our tutor community to 100+ tutors.

2024

Reading revolution Reading revolution

As our community grew, we kept hearing about another major challenge families face in the U.S. education system: gaps in reading and ELA skills.

Many parents asked whether Brighterly could bring the same approach we used in math to these areas as well. In 2024, we expanded our offerings to include tailored lessons in ELA.

2025

Recognized for impact

In 2025, Brighterly was named a finalist in the EdTech Digest Awards in two categories — Math Solution and Tutoring Solution.

It was an important moment of industry recognition and a sign that the impact we were building was being noticed beyond our own community.

Today

AI-powered learning

We closely follow ed-tech trends and keep integrating AI-powered tools for an even higher level of personalization

Lately, we’ve launched AI Lesson Summaries — a feature that highlights key lesson insights and creates opportunities for better knowledge retention. And we won’t stop there, as even more updates are yet to come.

Mission & vision

Building the basics

First, we solidify the basics, and only then move on to the complex topics. This ensures that kids can understand the connections across topics, not explore them in isolation.

Improving confidence

We explain concepts and provide the context for their use. We also introduce real-world scenarios of use, making our learners more confident in solving non-trivial tasks.

Falling in love with learning

We make learning positive through interactivity and careful topic selection. First, kids become curious and eager to start their next lesson. Then they become lifelong learners with love towards the process.

The story behind Brighterly

Math always came naturally to me, but in both school and university, I saw how often it was taught in a way that felt abstract and disconnected from real life.

Brighterly was founded in 2021. We asked ourselves a simple question: what educational problem truly affects millions of children? For us, the answer was math.

The more we looked at the U.S. education market, the clearer it became that this was not a niche issue. Millions of students were pushed through school with gaps in their knowledge that no one stopped to fix.

For me, it was also personal. Math always came naturally to me, but in both school and university, I saw how often it was taught in a way that felt abstract and disconnected from real life. The question students naturally ask — why does this matter? — was too often left unanswered.

I also learned something else: when a subject finally clicks for a child, it is usually because of the person teaching it. Real learning is deeply human. That is why we started with math. Over time, it led us to expand into ELA and grow our mission into something bigger: helping kids build the foundational skills they need to succeed in school and later in life.

What we offer

Unlock your child’s full potential in math and reading

Every learner is different, and we acknowledge that. That's why we closely consider individual preferences, interests, study pace, and style. Our curricula, first created during diagnostics, continue to improve across all learning stages.

Brighterly learning approach

🤝

Personalized 1:1 learning

At our lessons, there’s only a kid and a tutor. This close communication builds trust and ensures that educators know and can address all of the students’ strengths and weaknesses.

🧱

Strong foundation first

First, we ensure that a child has a strong grasp of all the basics in math or reading. We fill in all the gaps and only then do we introduce complex topics.

🧩

Engaging and interactive lessons

Brighterly lessons are never boring! To keep young learners focused, we use gamification and interactivity in each lesson. Plus, we align all elements with a kid’s interests.

🚀

Confidence through practice

Our teaching provides real-world context for every piece of knowledge. So, kids know precisely when and where they can apply the theory.
