Franz Jerby Delos Santos

Although Franz Jerby Delos Santos is relatively new to the teaching domain, he has already developed a distinct approach that focuses on gamification and interactivity. As an online reading tutor at Brighterly, he has already established a proven track record of children benefiting from this learning methodology during his lessons and while using his own free resources.

Education and professional skills

Since 2020, Franz has been enrolled in a straight Bachelor’s to Master’s program in Psychology and Counseling at the Philippine Normal University. He is a scholar under the Megaworld Foundation and the Tulong Dunong Program.

Additionally, this tutoring specialist actively participates in knowledge-building seminars. These are just a few events to mention:

  • 1st International Research Conference on Interdisciplinary Perspectives
  • 6th South Manila Education Consortium Research Congress
  • Embracing 2026: A Path Toward Positive Mental Health

Despite his young age, the Brighterly reading tutor already possesses a firm opinion on how the learning process should be structured. Here’s how he describes it:

“My philosophy of game-based learning forms the foundation of my teaching methodology.”

Students learn more deeply and retain information better when they are actively involved and enjoying themselves. I accomplish this by carefully integrating digital tools and online games to make every session extremely interactive. Ultimately, this method enables students to develop a more comprehensive understanding of English language arts while fostering a positive learning environment and encouraging critical thinking.

Past experience and qualifications

Currently, Franz Jerby Delos Santos is actively expanding his portfolio of jobs and skill set. First and foremost, while serving as a reading tutor for kids on the Brighterly platform, he aims to design his lessons in an interactive format. He primarily works with students at the elementary and middle school levels, who often struggle with short attention spans. The game-focused approach he pursues helps to fix the issue easily.

Franz also served as a guidance counselor-in-training at the University of Manila. In this position, he contributed to the development of customized counseling programs aimed at fitting the unique learning needs. He also closely collaborated with seasoned counselors to gain valuable insights into effective therapeutic approaches to employ during reading lessons of all scales, from beginner and average to advanced.

Fun and gamification to keep kids focused

While contributing to educational pursuits at the Brighterly reading & math tutoring platform, Franz Jerby Delos Santos continues to develop his game-focused methodology. During his courses, he can help students delve deeper into texts and contexts to read through underlying meanings. He ensures that each child can perfectly dissect plots and characters, and is later able to transfer these skills into their day-to-day lives.

With his strong educational background in psychology and youthful disposition, Franz is able to find an approach even to the most introverted learners. He teaches Reading Comprehension fluency and provides homework help to students of any skill level studying in the corresponding school grade from 1 to 6.
